The pieces have finally started to come together for Zelena’s plot and we finally have a better idea of what her ultimate plan is. First I will have to admit I completely missed when she said she had Rumple’s brain. I totally missed the significance of her making that statement. Zelena now has everything she needs (almost), Regina’s heart, Charming’s courage and Rumple’s brain. All she needs is the Charming’s baby after this episode to complete her spell.
The major part of this episode was finding out the circumstance around Zelena’s birth and the reasoning for why Cora had to give her up. The flashback made me feel really bad for Cora, a character I have never like. No wonder Cora decided to get rid of her heart, I probably would have done the same thing. Her life was not easy and never got better.
Cora falls for an impostor pretending to be a prince. He makes her fall for him by saying exactly what she wants to hear. Cora wanted to be anyone but who she was, a plain and simple Miller’s daughter. That life was predictable and unexciting and gave her no hope of ever getting anything more out of life. She wanted, fame, glory and attention. She wanted to be respected and have a high seat of power, that only came with marrying into royalty.
She fights roots and nail her whole life to be the opposite of the ordinary woman she is destined to be. In the end she never did end up with the life that would make her happy and satisfy her fully. She forces Regina into a life she hates, because Cora thinks it will make herself feel better. In the end Cora dies without ever fully realizing the life she wanted.
Cora gets pregnant by the impostor prince. She doesn’t know what to do but then she meets Prince Leopold (Snow’s father) and he falls for her. She tells him he needs to follow his heart, not do something just because he is told to do it. She asks him “What is the point of power if you can’t choose who to wed?” Cora thinks that having power makes you be able to do whatever you want and make any decisions you want for yourself. Anyone who knows the history of kings and queens knows that is generally not true. They marry for an alliance or to help a kingdom, rarely do they get to do anything for love. But Leopold listens to Cora and decides to listen to his heart and gets engaged to Cora and decides not to marry Princess Ava. She gives him a chance to have his own voice, in the end though that is what hurst Cora.
All Leopold wanted was the truth from Cora. He didn’t care about the baby or the one nightstand she had with a fake prince. Leopold is an honest and fair man, he wants to rule the realm in that same manner. All Cora had to do was tell him the truth but instead of listening, actually listening, to this man she had to try to cover everything up. She was so terrified of losing her one shot at this perfect life that her mind was clouded and she lost everything in the process. Ava tells Leopold everything and thus ends Cora’s fairytale and begins her nightmare upward struggle to try to get back to this point. Her life from here on out is nothing but pitfalls and disappointments.
Zelena’s plan is to go back in time and kills Ava. If Ava doesn’t overhear about Cora’s pregnancy and isn’t able to tell on Cora, Zelena then believes Cora will not give her up and they can live happily ever after. Cora gave Zelena away because she would always be a scarlet letter on her, marking her and keeping her from ever being able to move on. With Zelena she would always be a miller’s daughter and though Cora loved her daughter she could not live that life. Zelena blames Ava for all her trouble and thus wants to get rid of the root of her problem, or what she believes is the root.
Zelena’s issues mirror Regina’s journey closely. For both of them one person overhears something they shouldn’t they tell someone and in the end destroy the happiness of that person they were inadvertently spying on. Regina wants revenge on Snow for the death of Daniel. Now Zelena wants Ava dead for allowing her to become an orphan, making it so she never had a real family or ever felt real love.
As we saw with Regina these hate filled plans of revenge generally don’t end well. It is interesting that Zelena keeps saying that she wants to hurt Regina when in reality the plan is all about helping Zelena, herself. Regina never being born along with Snow, Henry and Emma is just a convenient by-product of this whole plan. The true end result Zelena’s wants is to be accepted and loved by her mother, to end up in the loving family and to have a happy ending. Regina loses everything but in reality it won’t actually matter much to Regina because she won’t actually exist.
Right now it is terrifying to Regina because she doesn’t want to lose Henry, so in a sense Zelena is getting her revenge. She is hurting Regina right now but if this plan works as it is supposed to, there won’t be any anguished screams or a broken person for Zelena to stand and gloat over. Regina won’t be alive, so none of this will matter. Zelena won’t even remember this whole ordeal, so in the end she isn’t as much out for revenge as she is out to get her mother’s love. Having anger towards Regina just fuels her fire but the end result isn’t about hurting Regina at all.
There is only one way this time travel storyline can actually happen and that is if a alternate reality is created. The main characters of this show can’t cease to exist that would just change the whole premise of this show. So they have to survive in some manner and this is by having a reality where Zelena wins and one where she fails, in some manner.
Now if Zelena wins and kills Ava, allowing Cora to keep her, the question becomes will her life be all fairies and rainbows like she believes it will be? Cora will have gotten everything she wanted so will she be a loving doting mother? Or will she still be so guarded that she will never be able to truly trust Leopold and in the end still end up losing everything? I doubt this new life will end well. Life will not be perfect, some way, somehow Zelena will not end up as a perfect child with a perfect life.
Also Snow mentioned that with this plan Zelena will become Rumple’s star pupil and be able to do this curse with him. But why would that happen? Regina went to Rumple to learn magic because she was angry and upset at her mother and she wanted to get rid of her and Snow. That was her reason for wanting the curse. Zelena goes to Rumple because she wants to find a family and a way of life where she ends up the one everyone loves. If life is perfect for Zelena (as she seems to believe it will be) why would she go to find Rumple? She wanted power in this life, but in the alternate life why would she want power? What would it do for her? She wouldn’t have a reason to go find Rumple and become his star pupil.
So what life does Zelena truly want? Does she want a life with a nice family, full of love and contentment? Or does she want a life where her magic is revered and she is the most powerful and Rumple loves her? There are of course a number of ways she could end up with both but as things stand right now,it comes down to a choice. Will she be happy and satisfied with the life she gets? I highly doubt it.
The other major part of this episode was Zelena trying to talk Rumple into working with her on her plan, willing. Zelena loves Rumple and wants him to come with her when she turns back time. She tires to lure him by telling him he will see Neal again. Rumple refuses, stating he will finish the fight his son started. Neal’s sacrifice won’t go to waste if he can help it.
First this shows how far Rumple as come. He no longer deals with these treacherous people who are only out for themselves. He respects his son’s decision and wants to save those he cares about.
This idea Zelelan has of taking Rumple back in time confuses me. Where would he go? To when he abandoned Bae? To when Zelena was a baby? What was she planning to do with him once they got back in time? She is going to kill Ava and presumedly then she will disappear and up as the baby. Her other timeline will have been ended because Ava will not be around to create it. So then what would become of Rumple? Would there just be two of them running around? I doubt that would end well. It would end up creating some horrible paradox.
Time travel is freakishly complicated as we all know and Zelena’s plan would not end well. If she succeed, there would be some major complications with this idea that just might destroy her happy ending. Did she think they could be together after she killed Ava?
There was also some small pieces that struck me about this episode as well. When they find out Ava was the one who told on Cora and up-ended everything, Snow was upset because she realized her mother wasn’t completely a “good guy.” This seemed a bit harsh to me. Ava didn’t tell on Cora because she wanted to destroy her life. She told because Leopold was promised to her and he was being deceived. It wasn’t the kindest thing to do but it wasn’t villainy really. I didn’t see her doing it with only malicious intent.
Snow wonders what changed Ava. I don’t know if Ava necessarily changed overall. Maybe she found out about Cora and how she had to give up the baby and she felt bad. But I don’t see her as being this evil person then changing to a good one. She didn’t know completely the consequences of her actions. She knew Cora would be thrown out of the castle but everything else that followed she could never have guessed. She was selfish, not necessarily evil. So I wouldn’t say she turned from a “good guy,” to a “bad guy.” More she changed how she behaved and thought when it come to the consequences of her actions.
At the very beginning of the episode Zelena tells Regina that she doesn’t fight for what she wants. She makes Regina seems very passive while Zelena herself is much more aggressive. Zelena tells Regina that she put her curse into action so she could run away, she didn’t fight for what she wanted like Zelena is right now. Zelena listens to her heart and fights to satisfy it.
This point resonates with Regina. We all know how guarded this woman has been from the very beginning, letting anyone inside her bubble has been a difficult process. She doesn’t lead with her heart because it only gets her hurt. Which is why when she kissed Robin Hood at the end of the episode was so satisfying. Regina is at a point where she could lose everything at any moment and for once she isn’t going to run. Though what this all means without her heart I don’t now. Will it all change when she gets her actual heart back? Can she feel true love without it? Does it matter for true love?
“Act what you plant to be,” Cora-This is a different take on Zelena’s upbringing motto of ,“hide what is inside”. Both have to show the world an entirely different face to the world then what is inside of them.
“Laws only exist until they are broken by someone superior,” – Zelena – She thinks she can outwit the universe. Playing with the laws of time is extremely complicated and she will soon learn she isn’t as superior as she think she is.
Will kill Ava really solve Zelena’s problem?
Will life be perfect then?
Will she becomes Rumples star pupil somehow?
Will any of that matter?
How will Snow, Henry and Emma survive all of this?
What will get changed?
Will Regina’s connection to Robin Hod change once she gets her heart back?
Will Henry ever be brought into the loop?
Will Hook ever do what Zelena wants?
This episode gave us background for Zelena. We now know why she is on the path she is on and what her plans actually are. I liked what we learned and am very curious as to how they are going to play out her plan. Time travel can be done very well or it can be done horribly and end up confusing the whole show into a tangled mess.
First we learned in this episode what drove Zelena over the edge. It was interesting to see the two sides of the people who found Zelena and how their differences could be one of the reasons Zelena ended up as she did. Her mother was instantly captivated by Zelena as a child. It was as if she was blind to the world around her. This new baby became her whole world. I feel like she had wanted a child for a very long time and now that she had one, nothing and no one else mattered anymore. To me she seemed like the type of parent who refused to see any bad in her child, ever. “She couldn’t do that, she’s a good girl,” was probably a phrase she uttered quite often.
On the other hand her father is much colder. He didn’t even want to help the baby in any way. He actually just wanted to leave her where they found her. While her mother’s heart was almost overflowing with love there seemed to be little to no love in her father’s heart. This is a dangerous combination to have in parents. Her father hated her from the get go. He saw her magic, was scared and didn’t trust her from that moment onwards. While she could do no wrong in her mother’s eyes, in her father’s she did nothing but wrong.
Zelena can’t deal with her father after her mother passes. For a while she tried to live as her father wanted, hiding everything she was and accepting she was not worthy of love. Soon it becomes too much as it would for any person and she leaves to go find the Wizard of Oz. All this woman wanted was to be loved by a family. She goes to the wizard thinking he can just hand her over to a family who will instantly love and accept her. At this moment she is still like a very naive child. She believes that solution is so simple. But it is never that easy. You can’t just be thrown in a life and expect it to work out absolutely perfect and to be handed everything that you ever wanted.
Instead she finds out from the wizard that she was abandoned as a child because she could not fulfill Cora’s wish to become royalty. One part of this exchange really bugged me. How did Cora know that Zelena was not going to be able to fulfill her wish to become royalty? She abandoned her daughter as a newborn baby. Why would she automatically assume that she was incapable of becoming who she wanted her to be. She never saw her really do anything. It makes me wonder who Zelena’s father actually is. It is because of him that Cora assumed that Zelena was a lost cause?
Zelena learns that she has a half sister and that Rumple is helping her learn how to use her powers. She knows she can be better then Regina and wants to prove it. She runs off to find Rumple, to have him teach her magic and how to truly control her power. She is extremely powerful and shows the promise that Rumple has been looking for, for so long. But like any living person she has a fatal flaw, envy.
Zelena has never had a family, has never had anyone to look up to or anyone that truly cared about her. She attaches herself to Rumple because he is showing her affection and some type of attention. He tells her she is worthwhile and that proves a big issue for Rumple. The curse hinges on the idea of giving up something you love and Zelena only loves Rumple. Rumple cannot have that and pushes Zelena away. Yet again she is second to her sister, which sparks her major issue with envy. Envy is going to be the death of this woman.
I loved the way they explained Zelena being green. She is green because she let her envy for Regina and everything she has take over her whole being. Zelena issues are rooted much deeper then her physical appearance to the outside world. Her issues are an integral part of her which makes her story much deeper and makes it much more difficult to rescue her. Her issues, envy and anger have literally twisted her features and outward appearance. You can literally see how far she has fallen.
Zelena is extremely envious of Regina. She hates that Regina was kept by her mother and that she was the star student of Rumple’s. She wants what Regina had but she has absolutely no idea how off she really is about her assumptions. We all know the saying, “When you make an assumption is makes an ass of you and me,” something Zelena is going to learn very quickly. Regina did not have a life any of us would truly envy or want to live. I can honestly say I would never trade places with Regina, ever. Her mother was literally heartless, the love of her life was murdered, she had no one that could be considered close to her. She was not loved. She had to cast a curse to feel even a little bit satisfied. She adopted a child and then lost him, Henry doesn’t remember a thing about her or their history together. In no way would any of us trade places with that woman, but Zelena is so blinded by her idea of what if’s that she refuses to see the world before her. Why would her changing the past change any of that for the better for Zelena?
Zelena decides that a way to solve her problems is by changing the past. Time travel never ends well. I have never read a story where someone messed with time and ended up happier because of it. You can’t change one part of life and expect everything else to fall into place. A butterfly flaps its wings and causes a hurricane half way around the world, we have all heard that before. One twitch of one incident affects every moment from there on out. There is no way even begin to predict where this all could end up. What I do know is that never, ever goes well. Why would Zelena’s new life be any different from Regina’s?
Zelena has no idea how terrible her idea really is. She can go back, take Regina’s place and life is not going to be anywhere close to smiles and love. Cora will still be heartless, incapable of loving anyone, even Zelena. Zelena will not get the life she has always dreamed of. This is not the family that will love her with all their hearts. The world will care less about her just as they do now. I am very interested to see how this all plays out for not only Zelena but everyone else as well. This can be an interesting twist, that can really reveal a lot about all the characters or it can a complete mess, becoming convoluted and confusing. I pray its the former.
There was two very interesting scenes with Regina in this episode as well. First I loved the moment whens she explained the meaning of the letter to Robin Hood. She actually opened up to this man, which is a giant leap forward.
For years the letter had been Regina’s saving grace. Whenever she felt worthless or weak she read the letter and remembered that she was the best. This gave her the strength to get her feet back under her again. Now she comes to learn that was all a lie. She has to find a way to win this new fight, knowing that she is not the best. This is a major blow to a normally very confident woman.
Regina has always lived based off of someone’s else opinion of her. She was a disappointment to her mother, she tried to fight that and lost. She knew she was extremely powerful not because of what she did but because of some words from Rumple. She lived off of that reassurance. Now Regina has to define herself by herself alone. She can’t live for anyone else or because of anyone else anymore. She had to have faith in her own abilities and her own power. She has to look back and realize that she has always had the power, it will always be there no matter what. There is no one behind her motivating her anymore. She isn’t out to hurt Snow, she has no mother to prove wrong and no Rumple to impress. She is at her barest level and now she can rebuild herself with much stronger pieces.
The other moment I loved was when she literally gave her heart to Robin Hood. She hid it initially to save herself during the fight, knowing it would be her downfall in some manner. After the fight she has to keep her heart away from her, it being too vulnerable inside her own chest. She willing hands it over to Robin Hood. We have a key moment her for their relationship. This is her first step in trusting this man that is supposed to be her true loves.
She knows that sooner or later she is going to have trust this man. To really have a true love you have to know that that person will not hurt you. You have to give every piece of yourself to them and this is her first step in that direction.
She isn’t ready to fall into his arms but she is opening up to him. Like Tink tells her she is accepting that love is real and can actually mean something for her. Regina is learning to not only trust herself but to trust her heart as well. Opening up her heart, will open up her life. Now these next few episodes are going to be crucial. Regina is going to see how this whole incident plays out. I’m very afraid for Robin Hood at this moment, he is in grave danger having possession of Regina’s heart. I don’t foresee Zelena having any mercy on him or his son and if they break so will Regina.
“Put on a good face,” Zelena’s father – Interesting words considering how Zelena ends up literally wearing her envy on her face. She shows the whole world her wicked side quiet easily. She no longer hides anything.
“I don’t lose,”- Regina – She has actually lost quite a few time. She lost Daniel and Henry and the whole curse blew up in her face. Regina rarely actually wins.
“It is one thing to wonder about your past. Another to become envious of things you can’t have,”- Great and Powerful Oz- Regina lived for revenge and it nearly destroyed her. Zelena is living for envy basically. Envy is seen as a sin and we all know it never helps anyone to want what anyone else has. Even changing the past cannot and will not eradicate this problem.
“Can’t steal something that is given to you,” Regina- She is giving Robin Hood her heart and now she is praying he can protect it literally and figuratively.
What does Snow’s kid have to do with the time travel scheme?
If Zelena changes time how will it effect Henry?
Will it affect him at all?
Who will provide the “brain,” for this curse?
Who is Zelena’s father?
Can they ever get control of Rumple again?
Where is Hook’s ship?
How much danger is Robin Hood in now that he has Regina’s heart?
Is his son in danger as well?
What will become of Regina if Robin Hood is hurt or gives up her heart?
Will she completely break down?
When is Henry going to be clued in about everything?
James hadn’t slept more than ten minutes the entire night. He would close his eyes, feel himself drifting off and then he would feel Seth shift beside him, bringing him back to full consciousness once again. Every moment could be the moment, the moment when Seth would once again disappear from his life.
Last night Seth had come home from work, casually asked how James’s day had been and then thrown in that he had a new job in the middle of the very mundane conversation. That had been it. “I leave tomorrow,” was all he had said. James had waited, praying Seth would provide him with further details. But Seth hadn’t said another word about it. They had gone to bed without discussing the issue any further.
The sun was rising, throwing long thin shadows across the ceiling. James watched them grow and chuckled to himself. They looked exactly like prison bars, fitting for the way he felt at the moment. They grew until the sunshine took over the ceiling, how James prayed being freed was that simple.
“Morning,” a sleepy voice said beside him. Seth rolled over and grinned at his husband.
“Morning,” James said back. His tone was cold and hard. He didn’t want to have this fight but it was all becoming too much. He couldn’t do it anymore.
“You okay?” Seth propped himself up on his elbow and looked down at James.
“The fact that you have to ask that question makes everything so much worse,” James sat up and leaned forward staring out the window.
“What are you talking about?” Seth asked chuckling to himself. “I’m not responsible for whatever dumb thing dream me did, you know.”
James wanted to scream. He was making jokes right now? “Seriously!?” James threw off the comforter and went to the windowsill. He needed to put distance between himself and Seth before he backhanded him.
“What. The. Fuck. Is. Your. Problem?” Seth asked slowly, his playful tone was gone. “Go slow it’s still the crack of dawn.”
“A. It’s freaking eight o’clock nowhere near dawn. B. You are the problem,” James said.
“I know that genius, what did I do?” Seth asked. He threw his legs over the edge of the bed and dropped his head in his hands. “It is too early for this shit.”
“Job,” was all James said. He knew Seth would understand.
Seth groaned and collapsed back onto the bed. James sighed; he could be so dramatic sometimes. “Not this again,” Seth said to the ceiling.
“Yes, again,” James replied.
To say James hated Seth’s job wouldn’t be conveying his feelings properly. He wanted to take this so called “side job,” dip it in acid, watch it crumple and burn in-between his fingers and then smash what remained beneath the sole of his shoe.
Seth was a paid, “time hopper.” Wealthy clients called on him to fix certain events throughout history. Generally, it was to benefit them professionally in some way. Seth got the call and was off to kill, maim or hide whoever or whatever the client wanted. He had been doing it since he was teenager. Every time James begged him to give it up Seth shrugged and said he would think about it. Same answer every damn time. No longer was that going to be enough for James.
“Babe I can’t do this right now,” Seth sat up and went to the closet. James knew he had precious few minutes left before Seth would disappear.
“We have to. You can’t do this job anymore. I can’t let you do this job anymore,” James said. “You can’t just throw it at me and expect me to act like it’s no big deal.”
“My job is what gives us this house. It is what allows you to concentrate on your art. Without it we would barely make it by,” Seth said. He threw a T-shirt over his head and went back to look for a pair of jeans.
“It is what also killed me once,” James snapped. Seth stopped looking for pants and let what he had in his hand fall to the floor. He leaned into the door jamb, exhausted and drained.
“That was an accident,” he whispered.
“An accident that could easily happen again. You don’t know what is going to happen when you screw around with time. Next time you might not be able to fix it,” James said. He wanted more than anything to wrap his arms around Seth’s broad strong shoulders and make that memory disappear, but it was that pain that he needed to use to make his point.
Seth had been given what seemed like a routine job. He was to go and prevent the birth of a certain political candidate. He had gone initially to stop the wedding. It hadn’t been difficult, the groom was very skittish. It only took a few choice words from Seth to end the whole thing.
He had come home to celebrate a quick simple job well done to find James dying on the floor of their bedroom. James, for some inexplicable reason, could still feel the rattling in his chest as he had struggled for breath and his heart had slowly stopped. A tear stained Seth still haunted his dreams.
Seth had held him until he had passed, then he had run off to fix what he had done. Instead of preventing the marriage, he let the two people marry. He had then helped push them toward a quick divorce. The child was never born and Seth returned home to a whole and alive James.
James didn’t understand the details. Why he could remember dying? And what those strangers had to do with him was a complete mystery. How could their halted marriage made him kill himself? He had asked Seth those questions so many times but Seth always became angry and stormed out of the room.
Now wasn’t the time for that fight, one issue at a time. Seth went back to the floor of the closet and tried to find the jeans he had been holding.
“It won’t happen again,” he said with a slight quiver in his voice.
“How can you be certain? You don’t know what all the side effects will be. So many things are connected,” James said. “Please. Just. Stop.” The last words were a plea, a plea that came from the deepest part of his heart.
“I can’t. I’ve told you more times than I can count. It is what I have to do. This is my destiny,” he pushed past James and stripped off his socks and boxer shorts. He pulled on a new pair of underwear and the jeans he had pulled from the closet floor.
“That destiny stuff is complete bullshit. You are destined to mess up lives and endanger yourself? I don’t think so. Try again,” James grabbed Seth’s fumbling fingers and stared him dead in the eye. “Why won’t you give it up? Am I not worth it?”
Seth stared right back at him. Without looking away he brought up his wrist and flipped open the catch on the side of the bracelet he never took off. Inside the small square was their wedding picture. “You are worth everything. I’m doing this for us.”
“BULLSHIT!!” James shouted, pushing Seth’s arm away from his face. “If you cared about us in any way you would stop saying stupid stuff and give it up already!” James felt the tears in his eyes prickle; he prayed he could hold them in. Tears were not appropriate right now.
“Dammit ,James!,” Seth paced the length of the room twice before turning back to James. He was angry, but scared at the same time. “Fine, you want the truth? You want to know why I have to do this dumb ass gig?” Seth stepped back into James’s face. His gaze was pure fire. James wanted to back away and forget this whole ordeal. He wanted to hide, that look made him fear what words Seth would utter next.
“Yes,” he finally breathed out. Though he was terrified of what Seth was going to say he knew he had to hear it. They had come this far, this had to end somehow.
“I have a contract. A blood contract. I do what they ask or I die,” he said it so simply. The happy flirty man he loved was gone instead in front of him stood an enslaved man who had no way out.
“No,” James breathed. He retreated until his back hit the wall. He collapsed onto the ground and let the held in tears fall. “No!”
A blood contract had no loopholes, there was no way of ever ending it. You were at the mercy of whoever held the contract. You couldn’t refuse them. They could make you kill, they could kill you and there wasn’t a damn thing you could do about it. Only the most desperate entered into something like that.
“Why?’ James asked with a rattling breath.
Seth sighed and rubbed his hands down his face. “I was a teenager. We had no money and were on the verge of losing the house. No part time job was going to be enough. I met this Jordan at a party, he told me about a man named “The Fixer,” who would pay me well to help him. I was desperate. When he told me about the contract, I signed without a second thought. I figured I would save my family then run off and live as a hermit doing whatever he asked of me. I would be a loner and never hurt anyone should I decide to give up the life. Then I ran into you and I couldn’t stay away. I hoped I could find a way out of all this but I haven’t,” Seth shrugged. “I’m out of ideas. I can’t change it. This is what our lives are.”
James’s head snapped up. “Yes you can,” he ran to his lover and held his face in his hands. “That’s what you do, you change things.”
Seth gave him a sympathetic smile. “Babe I can’t go back to that moment, he has it locked away. Do you really think he would let someone go back and end the agreement? He would lose everything.” He gently kissed James’s forehead. “I have to go. We’ll talk more when I get home. Remember I love you,” he kissed James lightly on the lips and was gone.
James watched the place Seth had just occupied. For a moment he wanted to breakdown into a fit of tears and drown in sorrow and fear. But he couldn’t do that. If Seth couldn’t go back then someone else would have to.
James changed into a shirt and jeans and ran out of the house. There was one man who could do anything, for a price. James didn’t care what it cost him, he was going to save Seth and their life together if it killed him.
