June was a busy one for me. We had a a big fundraiser at my job and that took up much more of my time that I anticipated. The fundraiser went great which was a big weight off my shoulders. The rest of this summer should be pretty easy going.
I did end up reading six books this month, mostly because they were shorter than most of the books I usually read. I am 8 books ahead of my Goodreads challenge which is good. I thought one of the books I read at the end of May may delay me on that front but I am glad to see I am still doing well.
On the writing front I have not done so well. I was very busy throughout the month with the fundraiser that I didn’t have much brain power for anything else. I am hoping to jump in to a novel that I want to outline soon.
Lost Gods – Brom – This book did not live up to the potential that I had for it. I wanted it to be more about the gods aspect and it wasn’t.
The Littlest Uninvited One – Charles Tazewell- I adore this book in every way.
Every Heart a Doorway – Seanan McGuire – I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Unique and refreshing.
Down Among the Sticks and Bones – Seanan McGuire – The story of Jack and Jill was fascinating. I am hoping to see them again in this series.
Beneath the Sugar Sky – Seanan McGuire – This was the best book in this series. The strongest plot of the series. I also loved seeing some of the other characters again.
Running with Lions – Julian Winters – Such a sweet story.
Guess What? I wrote a book!

Books I Bought:
I made the mistake of going shopping with my mom when she was looking for a new book. The one she wanted wasn’t out yet but that didn’t stop me from adding to my collection.
Norse Mythology – Neil Gaiman
Hidden Figures – Margot Lee Shetterly
Illuminae – Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley – Shaun David Hutchinson
I am super behind on most of my shows but I did manage to stay up-to-date on two shows.
Queer Eye – I am obsessed with this show. It is one of the most wholesome, heart warming shows I have ever seen. I want more and more episodes.
Westworld – This show is confusing but awesome at the same time. I liked how the season ended and I am interested to see how they proceed with the story from this point.
How as your month? What were some of your favorite books, movies and tv shows?
