What Are You Reading Wednesday – we are the ants

51yr8-30fdl-_sy344_bo1204203200_I haven’t done one of these in awhile. What are you reading Wednesday is a feature over on  It’s a Reading Thing. Pretty simple to take part. Find the book you are  currently reading and answer the following questions.

1.) What are you currently reading? – we are the ants by Shaun David Hutchinson

2.) Got to page 34 or 33% in your e-book and share a couple of sentences:

“It begins with excitement. The date is 24 January 2016, Frieda Eichman of Grunstradt is the first to identify the astroid, using the telescope her father gave her for her thirteenth birthday. He’s been dead these last twenty years, but he would have been proud.”

3.)Would you live in the world that exists in the book? Why or why not?

The world is actually our world. Henry is given the option to destroy or save the world. I am already technically living in this world. But if I had to choose to live in Henry’s life I would not choose not to. His life is very rough and I am not sure I could handle that much pain and grief. I honestly wouldn’t blame him at this point for destroying the world.

What Are You Reading Wednesday -Crooked Kingdom

18200484What are you reading Wednesday is a feature over at It’s a Reading Thing. It is pretty simple to take part, just answer the following questions about the book you are currently reading.

1.) What are you currently reading? – Crooked Kingdom by: Leigh Bardugo

2.) Go to page 34 or 33% in your e-book and share a couple of sentences:

“To get Inej back, they would need surprise on their side, and the demjin was not the type to leave anything to chance.”

3.) Would you live in the world that exists in the book? Why or why not?

It seems that the only way to survive this world is to be thief or criminal and I am not anywhere close to that kind of person. I could not be as ruthless and hard as some of these people have to be. So no, I would not want to live here, mostly because I’d probably be dead or enslaved in a matter of days.

What book are you currently reading right now?

What Are You Reading Wednesday -Hollow City

51btkmubzbl-_sx320_bo1204203200_What are you reading Wednesday is a feature over at It’s a Reading Thing. It is pretty simple to take part, just answer the following questions about the book you are currently reading.

1.) What are you currently reading? – Hollow City – The second novel of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children Series by Ransom Riggs

2.) Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your e-book and share a couple of sentences (I had to go to page 33 cause page 34 was actually a picture):

It occurred to me that it had very likely  saved us once already; without the fog those balloons would’ve spotted us hours ago, in our boats, when we’d had nowhere to run. And in that way, it was one last thing that the island had done to save its peculiar children.

3.) Would you like to live in the world that exists in the book? Why or why not?

I like the idea of living in a world where you could find peculiar people but it seems to be getting quite dangerous. At this point I would say no, mostly because I don’t think I could do what they have had to do to survive.

What Are You Reading Wednesday- Ariel Rising

What Are You Reading Wednesday, #WAYRW, is a weekly feature over at It’s a Reading Thing. Want to join in? It is easy, just answer the following three questions about the book you are currently reading!

272376941.) What are you currently reading? – Ariel Rising (Ariel Between Two Worlds Episode One) by: AJ & CS Sparber

2.) Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your ebook and share a couple of sentences:

Hmm. He’s handsome, witty and personable. How can he not have tons of friends?
Really? You seem very friendly.”
“I was engrossed in my work…my studies. I really didn’t leave myself much time for friends.”

3.) Would you like to live in the world that exists in the book? Why or why not?

The world is very close to ours with the exceptions of aliens hiding amongst us. They are a race that has been around forever and have had a part in everything that has happened in our past. I like the idea of living in a world where there are hidden secrets we are unaware of. So yeah, I’d live in this world where the aliens are hanging out.

What Are You Reading Wednesday – FirstLife

What Are You Reading Wednesday, #WAYRW, is a weekly feature over at It’s a Reading Thing. It is pretty simple to take part in, just answer the following three questions about the current book you are reading!

9780373211579_p0_v3_s1200x6301.) What are you currently reading? – FirstLife by Gena Showalter

2.) Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a couple of sentences.

“Forget the next life. What about this one? Tell me why you’re here.” I motion to our illustrious cell with a tilt of my chin.

“My guardian sent me.” She strides to the second twin bed and sits, and there’s nothing graceful or feminine about her. “Told me to be a light.”

3.) Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

The world is an interesting concept. Your “firstlife,” is where you set up your next life, which is your eternity. You have to choose between two realms, one that is about light and one is about dark. They each have their merits. I like the idea of living beyond this life but there seems to be a lot of pressure to choose between the two. Everyone is telling you which to choose and it doesn’t seem like you get to make the choice for yourself. There is nothing I hate more than being told what to do and not being able to choose for myself. So I would say no, I’ll pass on this world.
