I love to write and always have. My dream is to be a published author and that dream is beginning to come true. After a year of hard work and a lot of research I have finally published my first book! It is a short story collection called, “Is There More?” and my pen name on it is Brittney Rz. It is a collection that settles you into what you assume is our reality only to realize that there is more to what you see and comprehend. I love stories and books that make you think twice about our world and I hope to have done that with my book.
Is There More? is currently available through Amazon only. I have enrolled it in the Amazon KDP Select program at the moment.
Check it out and I hope you enjoy it. If you do enjoy why not leave a review as well?
My love of writing began with a love of reading. Ever since I can remember I have been an avid reader. It was not and, still is not uncommon, to find me with my nose in a book, drinking in all of the new images, characters and adventures. Reading is my way of escape when the real world becomes too upsetting, difficult, or even just too boring. I dive into a book and only surface when I have no other choice. Science Fiction and Fantasy are my drugs of choice when it comes to reading. I love to go where I can’t go in the world we live in. Time travel, wizards, elves and evil curses fascinate and enthrall me. I love all aspects of these genres from the basic to the romantic.
I am an avid Harry Potter fanatic. I devoured the books like they were my life water. They have their own shelf on my bookshelf, above all other books I own (which are quiet numerous). The fascination and excitement the Harry Potter series brought me as a teenager and, still to this day, made me want to become a writer.
I always loved making up stories. Before I could read actual words I used to make up stories based off the pictures alone. I had an active imagination as a child, I loved playing school and house, anything that had a story line attached to it. As I grew older I fell in love with writing and the power of words. At first I just wrote fanfiction, extending the stories that I loved the most. I would always find myself imagining another scenario for a story or being intrigued about what could have happened. I would write for hours about where I thought a character could have gone or should have gone.
As I got older I began to want to see where my own original imagination could take me. At first it was in college as an escape from the loneliness that plagued my freshman year. Quickly it grew into a desire to share all the crazy and interesting things that chased themselves around in my head for hours on end. I love to write fantasy. I love to descend into a world that I can’t physically step foot in.I want to show others the wonders that lay beyond what we can see.
When I write I can be anyone and be part of any grand design or adventure. When I write I am the hero, villain, and sidekick. I love to be able to be all these different things and then come back to being me. I try to take something familiar and give it a fantastical twist in my stories. I want the reader to feel comfortable in the world I create but also feel excited about what could be coming around the corner. I want them to consider that maybe this could possibly happen someway, somehow.
My blog will mostly be book reviews and reviews of the tv shows that I watch and love. I will post small snippets of my writing from exercise or pieces I do not plan on really publishing.I am hoping to expand my topics to include more about writing and the writing process as well.
Hmmm I thought I had a like button on that page, I am going to have to do some hunting to find out where it went.
