Book Blogger Insider Tag

Little_black_bookSaw this a while ago on Becky @ Velvet Spade Reads and it looked interesting. I have been a bit behind on reading so I’m going to be doing some more tags and writing type posts until I can catch up.

Have fun

1. Where do you typically write your blog posts?
It depends on how I am feeling when I get home from work. If it has been an easy day then I’ll write at my desk. If I am more tired I will write on my couch while watching TV.

2. How long does it take you to write a book review?
It usually take about an hour or so. I write it in one sitting.  It may take another half an hour or so to proofread it and add the pictures.

3. When did you start your book blog?
I started my blog back in 2012. I originally started it as a place  to put my stories and showcase my writing. I added a few reviews for something to post in-between when the stories were being written and edited. I switched gears a few years ago because I realized I enjoyed talking about the books I was reading. I am now primarily a book review blog with occasional posts about writing.

4. What’s the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
I have an issue with keeping a regular schedule of posts. I don’t have a ton of time to read so I don’t have a stockpile of books to review. I try to find more time to read so that I can have more regular posts. I am getting better a balancing my time between my job and my own writing and my blog.

5. What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
I love talking about the books I read and then seeing what others opinions are about those books. By reading other reviews it is fun to see the many sides of reading. Everyone reads a book differently and it is fascinating to see how others interpret particular characters or events in books.

6. What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?
I have enjoyed writing posts that are Harry Potter themed. I adore the books and any chance I get to analyze them makes me happy.

7. What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
I love writing reviews. I love to rethink a book. I love to talk about my favorite parts and think about how things can be changed or edited. I like to take the time to really understand the book I read. I feel like it helps me connect to the books a reader and learn as a writer.

8. When do you typically write?
I try to write when I come home from work. I will sometimes write before dinner or right after. I also write a lot on the weekend when I am not busy.

9. How do you write your books reviews? Right after finishing a book? Two weeks after finishing the book?
It all depends on what is going on and when I finish a book. I do like to write one right I finish it when the book is fresh but that isn’t always possible. I think the longest I have gone between finishing the book and writing a review is about a month.

10. How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled up with your fur baby?
My favorite way to write my reviews are at my desk with my cat curdled up in my lap. I also enjoy writing on my couch when I don’t feel like going into my room. Though my cat is always nearby so he is always part of my writing routine.

11. How often do you post?
I try to post at least twice a week sometimes three times. I would like to post more but I haven’t found a way to make that consistent of a schedule yet. It has gotten much better than the handful of times a month.

I tag anyone who wants to give this a go. It was fun to look at the way I run my blog.
